I sat down with Anthony Tombling Jr – a filmmaker and composer who co-runs the independent production outfit Unit 3 Films.
With over a decade of professional experience in film and music, and a creative journey spanning nearly two decades, Anthony brings a wealth of insight across long- and short-form documentaries, narrative projects, music videos, EPKs and content creation.
Under his music project CUTS, his work bridges visual storytelling and atmospheric sound design. His music has featured in Alex Garland’s film ‘Ex Machina’, and he has collaborated with artists such as Massive Attack.
We discuss his early days and long creative journey, exploring the realities of freelancing, his approach to film scoring, his distinctive style of music and filmmaking, his documentary work, and his process for approaching projects – plus what he has coming up next.
