1. Overview
These Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by Steve Conway Films, including:
- One-to-one filmmaking consultation sessions
- Film Edit Review & Consultation (remote editorial feedback service)
By booking any service, you agree to these terms.
2. One-to-One Filmmaking Sessions
Are these sessions suitable for beginners?
Yes. These sessions are suitable for all levels, including beginners. The content is tailored to your individual needs and goals.
What topics are covered?
Topics may include:
- Pre-production (planning, scripting, and development)
- Casting and working with performers
- Locations and production planning
- Directing and working on set
- Editing and post-production workflow
- Distribution and film festival strategy
- Building long-term filmmaking goals
- Organisation and production management
- Filmmaker mindset and creative confidence
Each session is tailored to your specific project or learning goals.
How are sessions conducted?
Sessions are conducted via:
- Video call (Zoom or equivalent platform)
- Voice call (if preferred)
The format is agreed in advance to suit both parties.
Time zones
Every effort will be made to accommodate reasonable time zone differences. Some flexibility may be required.
Session duration
Each 1-Hour Indie Film Power Session is limited to 60 minutes unless otherwise agreed.
3. Film Edit Review & Consultation (new service)
This service includes:
- Independent viewing of a submitted short film (up to 20 minutes)
- Structured written editorial notes
- A 30-min video consultation call
This service is intended for narrative short films in an active editing stage (rough cut or near-final cut).
Projects not at this stage may not be suitable.
Steve Conway Films reserves the right to decline unsuitable projects, in which case a full refund will be issued.
4. Payments
All payments are processed in advance via Stripe / unless stated otherwise by Steve Conway.
Payment confirms your booking.
No work will begin until payment has been received in full.
5. Refunds and cancellations
Due to the personalised nature of all services, the following applies:
One-to-One Filmmaking Sessions
- Once a session has commenced or been delivered, payments are non-refundable.
- You may cancel and request a full refund within 7 days of purchase, provided no session has taken place.
Film Edit Review & Consultation
- You may cancel and request a full refund at any time before submitting your film for review.
- Once your film has been submitted and review work has commenced, payments are non-refundable due to the bespoke nature of the service.
- Review work is considered to have commenced once the film has been accessed and viewed.
General terms (14-day notice clarification)
By booking any service, you acknowledge and agree that services may begin within 14 days of purchase.
This means that:
- Work may be scheduled, started, or delivered at any point within 14 days of payment
- You agree that the service may begin before the end of any standard cooling-off period, where applicable
- Once the service has begun (including scheduling, access, or review), normal refund terms apply as outlined above
6. Content and intellectual property
You must be the rightful owner or authorised representative of any material you share.
All client materials remain the property of the client.
Feedback, notes, and consultation content provided by Steve Conway Films remain confidential and are for personal use only.
They may not be shared, reproduced, or distributed without permission.
7. Content suitability
You agree that any submitted material:
- Does not contain illegal content
- Does not contain pornography or sexually explicit material
- Does not contain exploitative or unlawful content
Steve Conway Films reserves the right to refuse or terminate any project that is inappropriate or breaches these terms.
8. Advice disclaimer
All guidance provided is based on professional experience in independent filmmaking.
No financial, legal, or commercial guarantees are provided.
Any legal, licensing, or regulatory matters should be independently verified.
9. Termination
Steve Conway Films reserves the right to end any service immediately if behaviour or content is deemed inappropriate or in breach of these terms.
10. Agreement
Age Requirement: All participants in must be over 18 years old. Payment: By making a payment, you confirm that it will not cause financial difficulty and that you are legally authorised to do so. By booking any service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
